Integrated Building Platform for Australian Technology Park

VAE Group have been awarded the contract to provide an Integrated Building Platform for the Australian Technology Park (ATP) development project in Sydney. The integrated building platform will provide an over-arching system that allows building operators to collect, compare and analyse data from all building services in one interface that displays at-a-glance building data.

Integrated Services include:

  • HVAC Control
  • Blind Control
  • Lighting Control
  • Emergency Lighting Monitoring
  • Vertical Transport Monitoring
  • Electrical Reticulation System Monitoring
  • Electrical, Thermal, Gas and Water Metering
  • Security and CCTV Monitoring/Control
  • Integrated Control Network Monitoring

ATP is being built by Mirvac at the old railway yards in Redfern. The railway sheds have already been restored providing functional offices and meeting rooms. The next phase of the project is three new multi-story buildings for commercial, retail and community purposes. VAE will incorporate the latest in building technology to ensure the buildings are efficient from an energy perspective, a maintenance perspective and an operational perspective.

Rather than having to be trained on multiple systems, the building operators only need to be trained on one to manage all of these services. This allows the operators to generate system performance reports as well as analytical reports to identify areas of below-par performance.

ATP is the seventh integrated building platform that VAE have installed. Other installations include systems for Townsville City Council, Moreton Bay Regional Council, Queensland Investment Corporation, Riparian Plaza, 50 Cavill Ave at Surfers Paradise and the Blood Bank.

Each customer has unique applications for the implementation of an integrated building platform. These applications range from identifying and controlling excess energy usage, rationalising building maintenance, implementing a data driven maintenance strategy and improving equipment life cycle management. Whatever the application, an integrated building platform can have a dramatic impact on the efficiency of any building.
